A Bittersweet Goodbye: Documenting a Family Dog, Riggs

Recently, I had the honor of capturing a deeply emotional moment for a family I've known for many years. Their family dog, a loyal companion through countless milestones, fell suddenly ill and was soon to cross the rainbow bridge.

Being invited to document his final day was incredibly moving. We spent the session celebrating his life, capturing tender moments of love and connection. Something I remember about Riggs' session in particular was his love of bubbles! I've almost always brought out the bubble machine for toddlers, and never realized that this could also be a favourite for a furry friend as well. So when his mama told me that he loved bubbles, I brought our famous bubble blower and his human sister helped set it up for him. It was a really tender moment and a reminder to do all the things you love and do them fully.

It brought me great joy to offer Riggs' family professional portraits of their sweet boy, hoping these images will bring comfort and smiles during their sadness.

With love,

Kerri
